How to wash your Crutcheze® Products

Congratulations on purchasing the original, made in the USA, highest quality crutch
and walker accessories. One of the best features of Crutcheze®is the products are
completely washable. The padded covers are made so the foam is easily removed
before washing. You can leave the foam in the padded set, but to maintain the
integrity of the foam, it is recommended that you can either remove the foam or
simply air dry the item after it is washed in the machine. Please make sure you secure
all parts that have Velcro, so it does not stick to itself or other items in the machine.
Another cool feature is that most of our solid colors are made with a material that is
treated with an antibacterial solution that is good up to 50 washes. It helps protect
against worsening any infections or carrying any bacterial while you rehab. You never
know what you are exposed to in clinical settings.
Crutcheze® Black Crutch Pad Covers- 2 padded underarms and 2 padded hand grips

Keep your Crutcheze®Pads fresh and new!

1.   Simply take item(s) off your mobility device
2.   (Recommended, but not necessary) Remove the foam from padded covers.
3.   Please attach all Velcro pieces to avoid snags.
4.   Wash with normal laundry. Air dry if foam is still inserted.

   5.   Inserting the foam back into the washed fabric piece is simple:

Crutch Pads- roll up the fabric piece and slide it over the foam (ex. Similar to putting a sock onto someone else)

Crutch Hand Grips/Walker Hand Grips- slide foam back into the fabric piece and simply work the fabric around the foam until seems are lined up with the middle of the side of the foam.

Simple as that! Your Crutcheze® items should be like new and ready to provide the

stability and comfort you rely on- Now Get Back To It™

What makes the BEST crutch pad foam?

There are a number of different options when buying comfort pads for crutches nowadays. Here’s a quick buying guide of what to look for.
1. The foam thickness: Pick a pad that is thick enough to offer real comfort. Hint: If you can still feel the rubber pad that came with the crutches under the foam comfort pad, they are not thick enough.

2. The foam shape: For a crutch comfort pad to provide maximum comfort, the foam should be contoured, or shaped to fit over the crutch pad. Some inexpensive crutch pads just use a square of foam that’s all the same thickness. Contoured foam is thicker on top of the pad to keep your arms comfortable, but thin on the sides do it doesn’t rub.
3. The quality of the foam: High-density polyethene foam
lasts longer, is latex free, and will keep you comfortable much longer than other varieties.
4. Country of origin: Pads made in the USA will generally be of much higher quality that copy-cat products like those sold by companies like Vive on Amazon. Companies like Vive sell inferior, Chinese-made products that are usually direct copies of top selling products. They sell them for less because they skimp on materials, which means less comfort. These companies manipulate reviews to make customers think their products are better than they are…..buyer beware.
The top crutch pad brands to look at are:
In summary, look for high quality, thick, contoured foam if you want to get the most comfort during your time on crutches. With crutch pads, you truly get what you pay for.

How to Properly Fit Crutches to your Height

There are many people suffering injuries each day and result in being on crutches, most likely for the first time. According to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, there are 6.5 million people using durable medical equipment (DME), such as canes, walkers, or crutches to assist with their mobility. Before reading further on how to properly fit your crutches, it is recommended to consult with your doctor or therapist to offer proper guidance with adjusting and using any type of medical equipment, including underarm crutches.

For those who are using crutches for the first time, fitting them can seem counterintuitive. In order to give your injury the best chance to recover and increase your mobility, it's important to do it correctly. The following are simple steps to make sure the adjustable standard adult crutches are fitted to your height.

First, make sure you put on a pair of comfortable shoes that are ones you use regularly. Your shoes should be flat and offer good support.

Second, relax your arms and let them hang down over your crutches. Lining up the crease of your wrist when your arm is draped over the crutch is the proper way to begin measuring the crutches to your height. If your wrist does not line up to the hand grip part of the crutch, simply adjust the height with the push button at the bottom of your crutch. You can also adjust the hand grip piece by unscrewing the wingnut and reposition the grip by using the other spots along the shaft of the crutch

Finally, make sure there is 2-4 inches between your armpit and the crutch pad. Many people usually skips this part resulting in unnecessary pain and rashes from the consistent crutch use. Crutches are designed to get support from the arms and ribcage, not from the shoulders. The distance should provide plenty of space between yourself and the underarm crutch pad. It would offer room to add a padded cover for additional support and comfort. The top rated pads in the market today could be found by clicking here and checking out Crutcheze options in different styles and designs for foam padded crutch covers and hand grip sets.
